Whimsical 3D Birds

September 18, 2017

Maggie, one of our members led a workshop on "Whimsical Flight’s of Fancy" A. 3d bird using a felt shape embellished with wool and embroidery.
Taken from June 2016 Workshop on the Web by Maggie Grey http://www.workshopontheweb.com/

Wisps of wool were roughly needle felted on a backing of a neutral piece of felt. It was then decorated with simple embroidery stitches. A tail was added and just before being completely stitched, it was stuffed with polyester or kapok. The beak was made by wrapping black cotton around the end of the bird.
